How to animate a title in Fusion

DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1 · Original practical guide

A simple title animation needs clear start and end states. Build the readable static design first, then animate a small number of controls.

Before you begin

Use a short test clip and open Fusion. Keep MediaOut connected to the final result.

Step by step

  1. Create a Text+ node and merge it over the source image, with the Merge output connected to MediaOut.
  2. Enter and style the text. Use a Transform node after the title when you want to animate its overall placement separately.
  3. At the entrance frame, activate a keyframe for Center or the intended control and set the starting position. Move later and set the settled position.
  4. Use the Spline editor to ease the movement, then play through the arrival, reading interval, and exit. Confirm no text is clipped outside the composition.

Check your result

The title arrives smoothly, pauses long enough to read, and remains visible in the final output.

If it doesn’t work as expected

If the viewer shows the title but Edit does not, you may be previewing a node that is not connected to MediaOut. Trace the final connection.
